This is an old resource but still provides
helpful information. Marketing is a key component of fundraising and
development. While this manual focuses on marketing in order to reach
and retain students not already served, the methods and strategies
will assist you in grant-writing and in marketing your program to
perspective sponsors and collaborators. It also includes Media
techniques for marketing your program.

with a different lay out which may be helpful when searching for
particular topics in the manual.
BuildLitearcy.org: www.BuildLiteracy.org is partnership building
website designed to help libraries improve and expand literacy
services and programs. This site features a resource titled, "Capacity
Building Toolkit" with materials which may be helpful for your
Certified Literate Community Program. "The Capacity Building Tool Kit
is designed to be dynamic and content-rich. Currently, the Tool Kit
includes information about Meeting Community Needs, Demonstrating
Financial Commitment, and Supporting Partnerships and Advocacy. In
just a few months, when the Tool Kit is fully operational, you will be
